Ashlea House offers a three-course communal breakfast every morning starting at 8:30. Breakfast will be simple yet delicious, changing daily. Breakfast includes orange juice, fresh coffee, yogurt parfait, a hot meal, and a dessert.

Your breakfast is prepared fresh each morning. Please let us know in advance with your booking if you have any allergies or food restrictions in order to craft your breakfast accordingly.
We endeavour to source locally from producers whenever possible. We frequently visit the local farmers market on Thursday and encourage our guests to experience the market also.
There are plenty of common areas to relax in or socialize with other guests as you choose.
There is a front and back parlour, a gazebo in the front of the house with views of the gardens and a 3rd floor back deck with an outdoor dining table.
The Widows Watch at the top of Ashlea House offers a panoramic view of the harbour and Lunenburg. It’s one of our favourite spots to relax, enjoy the beautiful views, and take in the sunset and sunrise.
We have available a treadmill, exercise bike, and free weights if our guests have the energy for and desire a more strenuous workout.
Lunenburg has a wealth of walking and biking trails with breathtaking views you can explore. The Ashlea House is walking distance away from unique shops, coffeehouses and restaurants with delicious fare, daily-caught seafood and fine dining experiences.
A short distance from Lunenburg is Mahone Bay, Blue Rocks, Ovens Natural Park and Gaff Point (there you can explore Hirtle’s Beach). Petite Riviere and the famous Kejimkujik National Park are a short drive away.
Beautiful sandy beaches, Crescent Beach and Risser Beach are also a short distance away. You can take a longer detour along La Have River or take the ferry across the river and explore the beaches, La Have Bakery, Petite Riviere Winery and browse small antique shops and historic places and museums.
